Mat Osman - Mat Osman Worked As A Delivery Driver After Suede Split
British rocker Mat Osman paid his bills by working as a delivery driver after Suede split.
The Trash hitmakers parted ways in 2003, a year after the release of their flop record A New Morning, and bassist Osman accepted a completely different job to earn cash.
He tells Britain's Q magazine, "I'd spent all the money. Suede was all I'd ever done and I needed to pay the bills."
Drummer Simon Gilbert also made a big life change when the band ended by moving from his native U.K. to Bangkok in Thailand.
He adds, "I just thought, 'F**k it, I'm sick of England. We've really messed up something that was amazing and I just want to get away'. It was a great therapy just to get on a plane and go. I was pretty serious about getting away from it all. (Frontman) Brett (Anderson) even rang me in 2007 and asked if I'd play a solo gig with him in Singapore. I said no."
The band reunited in 2010 and is set to release new album Bloodsports on 18 March (13).
