Tyler Perry - Massive Fire Breaks Out At Tyler Perry's Studio Complex
Tyler Perry 's film studio in Atlanta has been damaged by what Cnn have described as a "massive fire." According to Cnn's report, the fire broke out last night (May 1, 2012) and caused one building to partially collapse. Atlanta's fire captain Jolyon Bundridge said that no one was injured in the blaze. The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
The report also reveals that Tyler Perry had been present at the studio complex last night but he did not speak to any of the reporters present. Perry's studio complex sits on a 60 acre site and includes five sound stages, a 5 acre pond, a chapel, a theatre, a gymnasium and a separate art department. In the art department, sets are designed on site and it also includes hair and make up facilities and a wardrobe department. There is also a post-production facility onsite. Perry started out in the entertainment industry by writing stage plays throughout the 1990s and made his first film, Diary of a Mad Black Woman, in 2005.
Perry's TV shows, Meet the Browns and House of Payne are financially lucrative ventures, as are his movies, including Why Did I Get Married and I Can Do Bad All By Myself. Last year, Perry was at the top of Forbes' list of the highest paid men in entertainment, with $130 million earned between 2010 and 2011.
