In deeply sad news, the husband of former Doctor Who actress Mary Tamm has passed away just hours after Tamm herself had been buried. Tamm had been battling with cancer for 18 months when she sadly succumbed to the illness recently, aged just 62. Double tragedy struck though when, just hours after reading the eulogy at her funeral, her husband Marcus Ringrose also passed away, with what doctors believe to be a heart attack, at his home in Battersea, south London.

The Independent reports that Ringrose was sitting at the computer replying to well-wishers when he collapsed. It's sad news indeed for their daughter Lauren and grandson Max, both of whom would have struggled badly enough coping with just one passing. Tamm herself was best known for playing Romana in the first incarnation of 'Doctor Who', the main character was played by Tom Baker. Tamm was no flash in the pan success though, and enjoyed a long stage and screen career, including roles in films such as 'The Odessa File' and 'The Likely Lads' as well as a recurring role in the soap 'Brookside' as Penny Crosbie.

More recently, Tamm had been involved with television series 'Wire In The Blood', 'Paradise Heights' and 'Jonathan Creek'. She was last seen on television in 2009 in the soap 'Eastenders'.
