Mary J Blige Burger King Ads Pulled Following Outcry
A statement from the chain said that the ads were pulled due to a licensing concern, according to The Huffington Post, and added that it hoped for them to return to the air soon. There was no mention as to whether they'd be different adverts. The chain also pointed out that other celebrities including Salma Hayek and Jay Leno had also been advertising their chicken wraps.
However that didn't really seem to matter to the baying hordes, with the black women-orientated website Madame Noire even going as far as writing an open letter to Mary J Blige admonishing her for being a tool of what they believed was a crass attempt by Burger King to reach the urban market. There has been no word yet from Blige herself.| Comment on this article |
