Martin Hosting Charity Telethon
RICKY MARTIN is hosting a charity telethon on German TV to raise money for children in his native Puerto Rico.
The She Bangs hitmaker is teaming up with broadcaster RTL to host the money-raising special on Friday (20Nov09), to raise cash to build a youth centre in the north-eastern town of Loiza.
Martin says, "The idea is to build a centre, a safe haven for children that are at risk of exploitation, which is the main mission of my foundation.
"It's just to show them another aspect of life they don't know because of the way that they live. We need to show them the beauty of having a dignified life."
