Martin Freeman: 'Nothing will be bigger than The Hobbit'

Martin Freeman doesn't think he will ever do a film bigger than 'The Hobbit'.

The British actor is portraying the lead character Bilbo Baggins in the eagerly-anticipated film series - directed by Sir Peter Jackson - and thinks it will change his career forever.

He said: ''There's still a part of me that doesn't quite believe it's going to come out. Not many things you do in your life take on mythical proportions.

''Because of Tolkein, and because of Peter, it's the most anticipated film I'm sure I will ever do.''

Peter has also revealed the length of the first instalment of the trilogy, which will be the shortest of the 'Lord of The Rings'-inspired films so far.

He told Empire magazine: ''It's looking like it's going to be about 10 minutes shorter than 'Fellowship' was. So it's going to be officially our shortest Middle-earth yet. I mean, 'Fellowship' was just under three hours and this is about two hours 40 minutes at the moment.''

The first instalment will come to cinemas in December 2012.
