Marshall Tucker Band Star Dead At 54

Marshall Tucker Band guitarist STUART 'STUBIE' SWANLUND has passed away, aged 54.
The rocker died in his sleep on Saturday (04Aug12), according to local reports from South Carolina, where he lived.
Swanlund joined the southern rock act in 1985.
Group founder and longtime friend Doug Gray tells the Spartanburg Herald Journal, "It's devastating. He'll be best remembered for his personality and his guitar playing. His personality was truly larger than life."
And in a post on the band's Facebook.com page Gray adds, "We all have lost a friend. Please take a moment to remember Stuart's one and only great Laugh and certainly his everlasting Smile."
