Mark Wright Eyes 'Fifty Shades Of Grey' Lead Role
The aspiring actor told the Daily Star newspaper, "I'd love to play Christian - that would be such a great part for me. Everybody is loving that book right now". Mr Grey is the sado-masochistic protagonist of the novel, though Wright claims he doesn't share the character's fetishes, saying, "I'm not into sado-masochism myself though, I'm more of a romantic. I swear I've never been whipped in my life". The 25-year-old finished runner-up in the last series of 'I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here' and insists he could one day make it as a film star, saying, "I want to be James Bond one day. Nothing fazes me. You've got to have ambition. I want to be a massive Hollywood actor".
While Wright insists he could thrive in the role, Lionsgate and Focus Features - who purchased the rights for the movie - probably have other ideas. Though the movie is likely to be huge anyway, the correct castings could see the film become a franchise of 'Twilight' like proportions. It's likely that Ryan Gosling and Michael Fassbender will be sounded out for the role, but here's to hoping, eh Mark?
