Mark Wahlberg has turned down the chance to work with Steven Spielberg.

The 'Contraband' star - who runs his own successful production company which has worked on films such as 'The Fighter' and TV shows including 'Boardwalk Empire' - revealed he has said no to the legendary director more than once and Steven was not impressed.

He said: "Spielberg and those guys are doing their own stuff but you can certainly get them on the phone to see if there's something they're interested in. Obviously they've got a lot on their plates but if you have something that piques their interest, it could happen.

"A couple of times, those guys have come to me but I couldn't do it. They don't like to hear 'no' but it is what it is."

Mark also revealed although 'Entourage' is loosely based on his debauched life as a young movie star, he has toned it down for TV.

He told Total Film magazine: "The real thing was definitely much harder but we still had a lot of fun. We all really care about each other and want to help each other. We'd do anything for one another. 'Entourage' was the watered down version. I don't think people would be too entertained by watching these guys slap each other around."
