Mark Ronson Writing Ballet Score

Mark Ronson is following in the footsteps of Sir Paul McCartney by penning a ballet score.

The Beatles legend ventured into the world of ballet last year (11) when he wrote the music for Ocean's Kingdom for the New York City Ballet.

Now, Ronson is teaming up with choreographer Wayne MCGregor for a new Royal Ballet project in the U.K.

The DJ will work alongside songwriter Andrew Wyatt on nine songs, which will "focus on the Jungian theme of anima/animus and the theory of collective masculine and feminine unconscious".

The as-yet-untitled production will debut in London in April (12).
