Mark Ronson Pays Tribute To Winehouse At Camp Bestival

Mark Ronson performed a tribute to Amy Winehouse during his set at Camp Bestival yesterday (30.07.11).

'The Bike Song' hitmaker performed a version of the singer's track 'Back to Black' with The Rumble Strips, which he dedicated to his friend, who died suddenly last week ago.

Introducing the song, Mark told the crowd: "Its been a bad week for music, but if you like the music of Amy Winehouse then make yourself heard right now.

"So, on the first day I met Amy, we went to the studio and we wrote this song called 'Back to Black', which became the title song on her album, and then I heard this cover that this band The Rumble Strips did of that song and I played it to Amy, who never likes anything, and she said, 'It's the nuts' – that's what she used to say when she liked something.

"So we'd like to do this one for Amy and Charlie from the Rumble Strips came so we could pay this song for you."

Mark – appearing as Mark Ronson and the Business Intl. - was also joined during his headlining set by Miike Snow singer Andrew Wyatt, who played a version of his band's track 'Animal', and by MNDR, who performed 'Bang Bang Bang'.

Mark then closed his set with his version of The Zutons 'Valerie'.

Other performances at the festival included funk act The Cuban Brothers, who stripped to their pants during their energetic set, Ms Dynamite, House Of Pain and Eliza Doolittle, while the festival will close tonight with a set by Primal Scream, performing their album 'Screamadelica'.
