Marie Osmond - Marie Osmond Writing Novel To Cope With Son's Suicide

Singer Marie Osmond is writing a new novel to help her cope with the loss of her son, who committed suicide in 2010.

The Paper Roses hitmaker's 18-year-old adopted son Michael Bryan jumped to his death from the balcony of his Los Angeles apartment following a battle with depression.

Now Osmond, who is set to launch her own U.S. chat show in America on Monday (01Oct12), is teaming up with her surviving children to pen a book as a way to help heal herself and others going through similar tragedies.

She tells USA Weekend, "It's still hard. Time goes by quickly, but it still feels the same as the day it happened. God just gives you little respites in between. And maybe that's where I come from with this show... I don't think it's bad to talk about things if there's a reason and a purpose in it."
