Mark Ronson - Marcus Collins Wants Ronson Track

Marcus Collins would love to work with Mark Ronson.

The 'Mercy' singer - who rose to fame on the UK's 'X Factor' - has a list of producers he wants to work with and the 'Valerie' hitmaker is among those he has designs on.

He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: ''I love Sam Sparrow. I'm really, really looking forward to working with him actually. He was on my dream list of collaborators. Like Mark Ronson actually I would really love to work with him, I think he's amazing.''

Marcus has established a big fan base since releasing his music and he is overjoyed some of his gay fans feel they can relate to him and his story.

He added: ''I think it's lovely, sometimes gay fans write letters to me and they say how I have helped them come to terms with their sexuality and that's just really lovely. It can be a bit daunting but if I can help them just by being me, well that's just great. I'm glad to be myself. ''

Marcus' new single 'Mercy' is out now.

'Never Mind The Buzzcocks': Rhod Gilbert First Permanent Host In Five Years 4277691 News

Rhod Gilbert has been named as the permanent host of comedy panel show Never Mind the Buzzcocks. The BBC2 show has lacked a permanent presenter since 2009 when Simon Amstell departed so he could work on his own comedy tours and performances.

Gilbert has previously appeared on the show and hosted an episode of Never Mind the Buzzcocks in 2009. The Welsh comedian has also appeared on other panel shows such as Mock the Week and Have I Got News for You, also for the BBC.

The BBC made the announcement today (9th July) and 45-year-old Gilbert also issued a statement. He explained how he had initially wanted to be on the show after he guest hosted five years and was apparently told hosting permanently was a possibility. He added how pleased he is to be working alongside panel captains Phil Jupitus and Noel Fielding.

Noel Fielding is a permanent panel captain on the show.

Gilbert said "After my first Buzzcocks in 2009, I was told I was in with a shot to take over as regular host, and now, just five years later, I got the call. It has all happened so fast. Never Mind the Buzzcocks is one of those rare shows that feels like it belongs on our screens. It's an institution, in a good way. It's a great honour to be asked to take the reins full time and to hang out with Noel and Phill, and I'm equally excited and nervous about adding my name to those who have hosted it in the past."

Guest hosts have presented the show since Simon Amstell announced he would be leaving in 2009. Since then hosts have included Jack Dee, Terry Wogan, Robert Webb and Mark Ronson. Gilbert is the third permanent host in the show's eighteen year history, the first presenter was Mark Lamarr who hosted until 2005 before Amstall took over for three seasons.

The 28th series of Never Mind the Buzzcocks will begin filming later this year and will air in Autumn.

Mark Ronson admires Lily Allen's honesty 4236069 News

Mark Ronson likes Lily Allen's honesty.

The 38-year-old star collaborated with the 'Hard Out Here' hitmaker on their 2007 single 'Oh My God' and has since maintained a close with relationship with her, claiming that her ability to tell the truth is what makes her music so successful.

Quizzed about what his opinion of Lily's new album 'Sheezus' was, he said: ''It's great. I think Lily has a way of telling it like it is. She's so honest and that's what strikes me about her.''

While Lily, 29 - who has daughters Ethel, two, and 17-month-old Marnie with her husband Sam Cooper - is an avid user of social media sites such as Twitter and Instagram, Mark admits he's not as keen and doesn't even have a smartphone.

When asked if he keeps up to date with Lily's posts, he admitted: ''I'm not really interested in all that. I have, like, an old Nokia phone!''

Mark - who is married to French actress Joséphine de La Baume - also spoke about his family life and admitted that although growing up with lots of siblings was hard, he feels lucky to have had their support.

Speaking about whether family life was important to him, he told BANG Showbiz: ''I have 9 brothers and sisters so I don't have much of a choice. All families have arguments but you've just got to get on with it and appreciate what you have.''

Paul McCartney Drops Surprise 'New' Single Ahead Of 'New' Album [Listen] 3841118 News

Sir Paul McCartney has launched a fresh single from his forthcoming record, and has announced that his new album will be called just that; New. Thinks could get confusing for music journalists describing "Paul McCartney's new New Album," or his "new album New" but for now we'll focus on the exciting new release that has been sneakily dropped online, also called 'New.'

Sir Paul Teased Twitter Fans, Tweeting Words Related To 'New.'

Produced by Mark Ronson, the bouncy new song, 'New,' harks back to The Beatles sound with its marching piano chords, nostalgic harpsichord effect and lovesick lyrics. Of course, because it's had Ronson within 10 feet of it, it has a bulbous horn section but has been thankfully saved from the grating trumpet-plagued ubiquity of the producer's work of yesteryear.

"It's catchy, it's summery, it's a love song. I think people will recognise it as definitely me," said Paul to BBC Radio 6.

McCartney has spoken of how much he enjoyed Ronson's fresh take on music, saying via BBC News that "Mark's work with Amy [Winehouse] was sensational, so I knew he'd be good. He knows his music, he knows what he likes and the two of us together took the song and tried to put the maximum vibe into it. We had a lot of fun. He brought expertise, energy, enthusiasm and the odd laugh or two."

'New' sounds a bit like The Beatles's Revolver classic, 'Got To Get You Into My Life,' notes Billboard, and it debuted on Zoe Ball's Radio 2 show this morning (29th August). Sir Paul also worked with Adele's songwriter Paul Epworth, Ethan Johns and Giles Martin to create his new album, due out on October 15th.

Sir Paul has spoken of the beneifts of working with four, such varied producers, "The record is very varied. I worked with four producers and each of them brought something different," he said.

"[Paul Epworth] works completely differently. We went into the studio the first day I ever met him and he outlined [his] idea and said 'let's just make it up[...]The tracks that are Paul's on the album weren't written. I didn't bring them in, which is my normal method," he explained, adding "I just started knocking something out on the piano, he started drumming to it, and I stuck a bit of base on it and we had the basis of the song worked out."

New will mark the 71 year-old's 16th studio album and first new material release since 2007's No. 3 record Memory Almost Full, and the follow-up to his mostly-covers collection Kisses on the Bottom last year.

Bruno Mars Reveals Amy Winehouse As Surprise Influence On Unorthodox Jukebox 3415881 News

Bruno Mars has revealed a slightly surprising influence on his new album Unorthodox Jukebox – the late British blues singer Amy Winehouse! We reviewed the multi-million selling 27 year-old’s second album and, though we found ourselves impressed with it, we must admit we’d be hard-pushed to pinpoint the Winehouse influence stylistically.

However, talking to The Associated Press, Mars said "I felt like everything I've been saying, everything I wanted to do, she did it. It was one of those things like, 'Damn it! Damn it!' It was perfect.” He went on to enthuse "You couldn't put it in a box 'cause it could be played on rock stations, it could be played on rhythmic stations, it could be played on pop radio, and I've always wanted to make music like that – that could be spread out, and can't be pigeon-held to one thing. And they did it. Her and Mark Ronson."

Mars once again re-enlisted the help of his song writing pals The Smeezingtons for Unorthodox Jukebox but also has Mark Ronson on too – who of course was instrumental in Winehouse’s fame. Talking of the additional collaborations on the album – several producers are involved – Mars enthused “That's when the fun comes in. Now, it's time to have some fun. Let's put the dream band together... I love their take on pop music... It was a big ole science project.” Unorthodox Jukebox is out now and, a challenge from The Game notwithstanding, should find itself on top of the US Billboard 200 this weekend.

Bruno Mars New Album is "a big ole science project" 3415063 News

Like many artists that eventually plough their way out of the woodwork, Bruno Mars began his career as a writer for other singers. His work crops up in the portfolios of Flo Rider, Alexandra Burke, Sean Kingston, Travie McCoy, Adam Levine and Brandy. He even co-wrote Cee Lo Green's 'Forget You'. However, he always set his sights very high and revealed in an interview recently that he aspired to the musical heights of Amy Winehouse- which, it appears, is why he's now teaming up with Mark Ronson, the producer that pushed Amy into super-stardom.

"It was perfect," he said, of Amy's Back to Black album. "You couldn't put it in a box 'cause it could be played [anywhere]... And they did it. Her and Mark Ronson." Having grown up listening to a wide variety of music, all of it has rubbed off but in a kind of mis-matched way, he's an endearing if not brilliant patchwork quilt. His latest album 'Unorthodox Dukebox' is also a great patchwork, as Mars has brought together some of the business' best producers including Diplo, The Smeezingtons (who did his entire first album), Jeff Bhasker, Paul Epworth, and Emile Haynie. He described these collaborations to the Associated Press as "a big ole science project."

The album has got fairl good reviews so far but he's already joking about a future 'comeback', saying "You know my sister sings, my brother plays drums in my band. My whole family is a bunch of musicians. So, when the right time comes, you'll see it on some kind of reunion tour, CBS special, 'Behind the Music: Bruno's Family,' trying to revive my career."

Kaiser Chiefs Founder Nick Hodgson Quits Band After 15 Years 3401542 News

Nick Hodgson, The Kaiser ChiefsOh My God: Nick Hodgson Has Announced His Departure From The Kaiser Chiefs

Kaiser Chiefs drummer Nick Hodgson has quit the band after 15 years. The drummer, backing vocalist and primary songwriting announced the news on Twitter on Tuesday (December 4, 2012), telling fans of the Leeds band, "I can confirm I have left Kaiser Chiefs after 15 spectacular years. I'm moving on. I wish the rest of the band the very best!"

His band-mates tweeted their support for Nick's decision and there doesn't appear to be any bad blood over his departure. Lead singer Ricky Wilson said, "@nickkaiserchief The door is on the latch and the key under the mat," while bass player Simon Rix said, "good luck to @nickkaiserchief with his plans. Flashing a big smile, teen actress Chloe Moretz struggled to keep in character at Jonathan Ross Halloween bash

No one throws a Halloween party like Jonathan Ross so it would seem! The great and the good of the celebrity world dressed up in their most unholy gladrags to attend a special party at the television presenter's house. Leading the way was (500 Days) Of Summer actress Chloe Moretz whose dripping black-painted make-up couldn't disguise a beaming smile from the teen star. Jamie Hince and Kate Moss were also in attendance, the musician and the model pulling off a damn fine look as Gomez and Morticia Addams from The Addams Family.

No surprise to see Kate Moss bedecked in one of the outfits of the evening, alongside husband Jamie Hince

There were some right party poopers, though, with TV personality Claudia Winkleman and producer Mark Ronson making very little effort. They were more than compensated for however by Gary Lineker, his wife Danielle and their son George; as Gary and his wife turned up in what we assume to be a vampire and his wife, George opted for mummification, undoubtedly giving the Linekers the title for the best family effort.

Amy Winehouse’s Headstone Features Mark Ronson And ‘The Voice’ Star 3295112 News

Amy Winehouse’s headstone has finally been unveiled in Edgware, North London, and features the names of the singer’s closest family and friends. The Camden-based star’s collaborator Mark Ronson is mentioned, as is her soul singing goddaughter Dionne Bromfield.

The stone – inscribed with pink writing – carries a prominent tribute to Amy’s late grandmother Cynthia Levy, with the singer’s name featuring below. It reads, “Forever in the hearts of their devoted family”. The headstone also features a host of other colleagues and friends who were close to the singer, including manager Raye Cosbert, backing singers Zalon Thompson and Ade Omotayo and Dale Davis, her long-time bass player. Reg Traviss – her boyfriend at the time of her death – is mentioned, as is her best friend Tyler James, who most recently featured on the BBC singing contest The Voice. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Winehouse’s ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil is conspicuous by his absence on the headstone.

The unveiling of the headstone comes as a new box-set ‘Amy Winehouse at the BBC’ was announced. Set to hit shelves on November 12, the package includes a total of four discs, three of which are compilations of live performances.
