Marchesa release affordable line

Marchesa are releasing a range of affordable dresses.

The luxury fashion line is to bring out a line for JC Penney which will see them bring red carpet style to the high street.

The range is called Pearl by Georgina Chapman of Marchesa, and will include cocktail dresses, pants, shorts sets and gowns featuring the label's signature frothy fabrics and princess-like details.

Pieces will range from $50 to $250.

Label founder Georgina told People.com: ''The girl wearing this collection is a fun, confident woman who wants to throw on a glamorous dress and enjoy a night out.

''I created this collection for any occasion - ranging from holiday parties, prom and black-tie events to summer parties or casual events.''

Marchesa creations were recently seen at the Oscars, with Olivia Munn modelling a red and gold gown, while Georgina - who is heavily pregnant - wore one of her own creations, saying she had ''cut something special'', a white floor length gown.

Chinese actress Fan Bingbing also wore an eye catching fuchsia Marchesa gown to the event featuring sculptural folds of satin at the bodice and embroidery at the back.

Marchesa's range will be available from JCP.com and at JC Penney stores across the US. It is not known if an international release will follow.
