Manolo Blahnik doesn't have anything against women who don't wear heels.
The designer - famed for his stiletto shoes - says he can understand why some ladies may prefer to walk in flats but advices to practice in swimming pools if they do want to perfect strutting in heels.
He said: "I would like to say that I don't dislike women that don't wear heels - people often think I prefer women in heels but it isn't true. But if you do feel unsure, the best way to practice is by walking on the balls on your feet in a swimming pool or on the beach. The motion is the same."
While he is famed for his footwear creations, Manolo says he would like to add to his range but knows it would be difficult.
He said: "I don't have a massive inclination to like all the others do," he says. "But I do have a few bags that I do every year and I would quite like to design gloves but unfortunately no one wears them today. Or perhaps I would like to try making hats, but then again I suppose people would go to Stephen Jones for those."
