Stevie Wonder - Man Posing As Stevie Wonder's Nephew Charged In Extortion Plot
A man who posed as the nephew of Stevie Wonder has been charged with felony extortion.
Alpha Lorenzo Walker was arrested in Los Angeles on 2 May (12) after threatening to tell the media he was the product of an incestuous relationship between Wonder and his sister if the Superstition hitmaker didn't hand over $10,000 (£6,250).
Undercover cops quickly learned of Walker's scheme and trapped him in a sting operation after setting up a meeting under the guise of Wonder's representatives.
According to Tmz.com, Walker initially demanded $5 million (£3.2 million) to keep his allegations a secret, but he lowered his demand after the music icon hesitated at the huge figure.
Walker and his girlfriend Tamara Eileen Diaz were subsequently arrested and charged with felony extortion.
Jane Robison, a spokeswoman for the District Attorney, tells the Associated Press the pair pleaded not guilty on 4 May (12).
Walker is reportedly being held without bail due to a separate case, while Diaz's bond has been set at $95,000 (£59,375).
