Pete Doherty - Man Left Brain Damaged By Pete Doherty's Manager Awarded Damages

A man left badly brain damaged after he was run over by Pete Doherty's manager has been awarded a large payout by London's High Court.
Andrew Boyd was jailed for 12 months for dangerous driving in February, 2010 for running down 42-year-old Chris Corder in Suffolk, England while at the wheel of the rocker's Daimler.
Doherty was subsequently banned from driving for a year for allowing Boyd to use the car without insurance.
Corder was left with severe brain injuries after the incident in 2009, and on Monday (10Oct11) a High Court judge ordered him to be handed an undisclosed lump sum, believed to be seven figures.
The Motor Insurers' Bureau (Mib), an organisation which compensates victims of drivers without insurance, will pay the money, and bosses at the Mib are now free to chase Boyd and Doherty to repay the money as part of the settlement.
Corder's family solicitor, Hannah Rutterford, says, "The family have been devastated by the incident and are now just relieved that a settlement has been obtained which will ensure that he can be given whatever medical treatment or care is most appropriate."
