Police have cordoned off the Vip area at Britain's Glastonbury festival after a man was found dead backstage.
The body of a man, allegedly named as Conservative political aide Christopher Shale, was found in a portable toilet in the area behind the event's main Pyramid Stage early on Sunday morning (26Jun11).
Shale is believed to be a close friend of U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron.
A police cordon has been erected around the backstage area as officers attempt to discover what happened, while a camping area where festival production teams and performers stay has also been blocked off.
Inspector Chris Morgan, of Avon and Somerset Police, says, "A male was found down by the press office in the toilet area. At the moment we are working to establish the cause of the gentleman's death."
British rapper Professor Green was among the first stars to be caught up in the disruption, writing in a post on his Twitter.com page, "So we wake up to find out someone's apparently died and our whole area is cordoned off... Brilliant."
