Mama June Won’t Touch Honey Boo Boo’s Riches, She’s A Trust Fund Baby Now
Honey Boo Boo’s mother, Mama June might have some dubious parenting techniques on the go but at least she’s got her head screwed on when it comes to looking after her children’s finances. A TMZ article reveals that Mama June divides the family’s earnings from their reality show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo (an impressive sum, of $15,000 - $20,000 per episode, in case you’re wondering) between their four children, who now have their own trust funds set up.
“I want my kids to look back and say, 'Mama played it smart. Not like those other reality TV people,” says the woman who became known for feeding her young daughter a mixture of Red Bull and Mountain Dew (dubbed ‘Go-Go Juice,’ for its energizing effects on the toddler). Apparently, the TLC network out the money into the trust fund accounts and Mama June insists that she never gets close to the cash, herself. “You're never gonna see me drive a Range Rover or a Mercedes. I'll drive one if someone else pays for it. Never gonna live above my means.”
According to the matriarch of the bizarre family, her fella, Sugarbear still works as a contractor and that’s how they pay the bills. The only major purchase they’ve made since Honey Boo Boo made them famous is a 2005 Ford Expedition. Well, those kids may grow up with a skewed sense of propriety but hey, at least they’ll be rich. Right?
