Malcolm X's Estate Facing Legal Trouble
Administrators allegedly owe $2,447 (£1,529) to bosses at Manhattan Mini Storage in Inwood, New York after reportedly failing to pay a series of bills, dating back to December (11).
Officials have been given until 20 August (12) to settle the debt, but attorney L. Londell MCMillan insists the debt is a "non-issue" and claims the matter is under control.
He tells the New York Post, "The notices were going to the wrong party. It's a non-issue. The administrator who handles (the bills) was out of the country. The storage (facility) is being paid. There is nothing valuable to the estate in (the storage unit). Those things are in various intellectual property holdings, and would not be in mini-storage... All is well, there's no issue."
The iconic civil rights activist was shot dead in 1965, aged 39.
