Maines Causes Controversy Again In Documentary

13 October 2006
Dixie Chicks star Natalie Maines has sparked controversy again after declaring US PRESIDENT George W Bush "is a dumb f**k" in a forthcoming documentary.
Maines, who received death threats after stating she was "ashamed the President of the United States is from Texas" at a London gig in 2003, makes the comments on Barbara Kopple and CECELIA PICK's film SHUT UP AND SING.
In the film, her bandmate MARTIE MAGUIRE admits Maines felt guilty after the group felt the backlash from Bush supporters, especially in the South and Midwest states.
Maguire says, "Natalie still always blames herself. She still feels responsible. I keep telling her, 'You didn't do anything.' If she came to me tomorrow and said, 'I don't want to tour,' I'd give up my career if it would give her peace."

I don't ubderstand why anyone with good sense would even doubt her. Natalie is only stating what has been proven, just look at his ratings. I praise her for having the guts to stand up and say what 70% of the USA is affraid to say. The only thing I can see that he is accomplishing is feeding his ego and killing off the liitle person. It just makes me sick to even look at him and I refuse to even hear him speak. My husband is a Vietnam Vet and needs his disabillity and Bush and his ole cronnies are making it almost impossible for any vet to get what they are due. Why in the world would any person want to join the service nowdays. I also want to say that we are from the same state as Reba and Toby, two people I really liked listening to and watching until I read about how they condemmed Natalie for her comments. What ever happened to FREE SPEECH, I thought the was the United States of America. Good or bad we all have that right to say what we feel, or has Bush taken that from us also? You know if more people stood up and said what they really think of Bush and how his has mis-handeled justice maybe something would get done, like get him out of office. I think it is time for a woman to be our next President.

I think it is just terrible that if I want to see a Dixie Chicks concert I will have to leave the country. What's up with that? Bring the Dixie Chicks back to the USA!!!!!!!!!
