The Material Girl has banked a whopping $34.58 million (£21.6 million) in the last 12 months, thanks largely to her hugely successful Mdna world tour, which earned her an estimated $32 million (£20 million) alone.

Her mammoth pay cheque placed her just ahead of rock icon Springsteen, who garnered $33.44 million (£20.9 million) in the same period after hitting the road on the Wrecking Ball trek.

Pink Floyd legend Roger Waters ($21.16 million/£13.23 million), Van Halen ($20.18 million/£12.61 million) and country star Kenny Chesney ($19.15 million/£11.97 million) are placed at three, four and five, respectively, while Dave Matthews Band, Coldplay and Justin Bieber are also mentioned in the Billboard top 10.
