Madonna Denies Adoption Rumours
Last year the Queen of pop caused a media furore after she began proceedings to adopt Malawian baby David Banda.
Her return to the African country sparked rumours that another adoption may be on the cards, but her spokeswoman has downplayed the reports.
"She is absolutely not adopting another baby," Liz Rosenburg said. "She is overseeing the building of a children's health care centre."
Her involvement in the health centre is due to the charity Raising Malawi, a cause which Madonna claims is "very close" to her heart. It aims to help the country's one million orphans.
David Banda is currently living with the 48-year-old and her husband Guy Ritchie after they were granted an interim custody order.
The young boy's father, Yohane, supports the adoption; a sentiment not shared with his country's charities.
A coalition of 67 activist groups are monitoring the adoption process amid claims it was fast tracked due to Madonna's wealth and fame.
As well as David, the material girl is also mother to two other children, ten-year-old Lourdes and six-year-old Rocco.
