Madness - Madness Launch Own Beer
Ska band Madness tried their hand at pulling pints at a London pub on Thursday (06Jun13) in honour of the launch of their new beer.
The musicians headed to The Walrus & The Carpenter venue in the U.K. capital to pour the first few pints of Gladness, a lager-style ale which features floral aromas with a hint of spice.
The band teamed up with bosses at British brewers Growler Brewery in Essex to create the alcoholic beverage, which will be stocked at 800 venues, owned by Nicholson's Pubs, across the U.K. for the next three months.
Lead singer Graham 'Suggs' MCPherson says, "After many, many years spent in a pub discussing our ideal beer, we're very proud of our first attempt - and we've got a great excuse to spend a bit more time in the pub."
Madness are not the only English band to release their own beer - rockers Iron Maiden teamed with Robinsons Brewery in Stockport to create Trooper, which was released last month (May13).
