Lucy Inspires Second Lennon Track
Lucy Vodden, who died last month (Sep09) after losing a battle with lupus, has been remembered in new duet Lucy, performed by John Lennon's son Julian and James Scott Cook.
Songwriter Cook explains, "(I'm) honoured to be a part of a song that might help people remember Lucy Vodden, bring some attention to lupus and hopefully add a chapter to the unique story of inspiration that Lucy came to represent. Not to mention working with Julian Lennon was awesome."
Proceeds from the track, available for fans to buy online, will benefit charities researching the autoimmune disease Vodden fought.
Lucy first came to the Beatle's attention when young Julian brought home a painting of his classmate with diamond shapes over her eyes - sparking the song's title.
