Love Snubs Sir Philip Green's Fashion Offer
Green approached Love during last month's (May11) Cannes Film Festival in France about becoming a celebrity designer for his store to replace Kate Moss, who created several clothing ranges for Topshop before stepping down as the company's spokesmodel last year (10).
The rocker said no to the offer - but Green's still pursuing her about a potential deal.
She tells London's Evening Standard, "He was on the boat next to us in Cannes and I talked to him about my line. He was very interested but I kept telling him he couldn't have it. I don't want my collection in the basement in Topshop on Oxford Circus (London shopping area), I want it in Browns or Selfridges.
"But apparently the thing with Sir Philip is, just to keep saying no to him is what he likes best. He's called me four times already, saying he wants to do a diffusion line. He said, 'I'm not looking for another Kate'. Well, that's good, because I am clearly not another Kate."
