Lost At Sea: Russell Crowe Kayak Adventure Ends In Coast Guard Rescue
The Oscar-winning actor has been filming the biblical epic movie Noah in New York and clearly decided that all that rainy-deluge and ark-dwelling just wasn't watery enough for him so he and a friend went out kayaking. As it got dark though, he and his friend got lost and were forced to head for shore, ending up about 10 miles east of where they had started out. Luckily for Crowe, the US Coast Guard were patrolling the area and heard the 48 year-old calling out to them. They hauled them out of the water and gave them a ride back to Huntington Harbor.
Robert Swieciki of the US Coast Guard said "He just needed a little bit of help, he just got a little lost," Swieciki said. "It wasn't really a rescue, really, more of just giving someone a lift." Crowe and his pal were grateful, nonetheless and Russell took a moment to Tweet his gratitude later one, saying "Thanks to Seth and the boys from the US Coast Guard for guiding the way . 4 hrs 30 mins, 7m(11.2km)." Hopefully no one's leaving Russ in control of the ark.
