Loretta Lynn Teams Up With Crow & Lambert For Tribute Album
SHERYL CROW and MIRANDA LAMBERT have joined country queen LORETTA LYNN in the studio for a revamp of the veteran singer's COAL MINER'S DAUGHTER hit.
The track will be the first single released from an upcoming tribute album to Lynn and the living legend was thrilled to land two of her favourite modern stars as collaborators.
She tells Billboard magazine, "I love Miranda and Sheryl, and I really felt they both brought something different singing style-wise to this song. Miranda is so country and has a sassiness to her. You can hear it as soon as she sings her first line: 'My daddy worked all night in the Van Lear coal mine'.
"And Sheryl adds such a soulfulness to her lines. I loved both (of them). I am so happy and proud they did the song with me."
The tribute album, called Coal Miner's Daughter: A Tribute to Loretta Lynn, also features Steve Earle, Faith Hill, Alan Jackson, Kid Rock, Martina MCBride, Carrie Underwood, the White Stripes and Lucinda Williams.
