Lollapolooza To Expand Into The Middle East

Day three of Chicago-based festival Lollapolooza is just about ready to kick start (CDT), but even before the first band has taken to the stage the festival's founder Perry Farrell has announced that the multi-genre festival is ready to branch out to yet another country.

Already the festival has expanded into Chile in 2011 and then Brazil earlier this year, but next year the festival will be heading east rather than south as Lollapolooza Israel will pitch up in Tel Aviv's Yarkon Park, the country's second most populous city, on August 20-22, 2013.

Farrell announced the news to Cnn today, digressing that the three day festival will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (20th - 22nd), making sure it avoids clashing with the Jewish Sabbath day of Friday, when Orthodox observers refrain from using modern technology (including driving) and listening to music.

However, Farrell admitted that Tel Aviv isn't the only stop off for Lollapolooza on its tour of the Jewish state as he stated that the festival would also stop by the country's capital and most Holy site of Jerusalem.

And if that wasn't enough, Farrell also told the news station that that's not all for the touring festival, however his lips remained tightly sealed as to where the tour would be heading afterwards.

Meanwhile, back in Chicago, yesterday's festivities were forced to be put on hold after torrential rain forced an evacuation of the festival site at Grant Park.

However, the show must go on, and that is just what I did, with Frank Ocean, SANTIGOLD AVICII and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers rounding things off at the end of the night.
