Lohan's Father Slams Probation Extension

MICHAEL LOHAN is fuming after his daughter LINDSAY's probation for a 2007 arrest was extended by a year - because he thinks the actress should have been sent to rehab.

The Mean Girls star failed to complete an alcohol education program, which she was ordered to undertake as part of her sentence for driving under the influence (DUI) and drug possession in August 2007.

She was summoned to appear before Beverly Hills Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel on Friday (16Oct09), where her lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley requested her probation be extended.

The judge granted the court motion, although prosecutors warned Lohan she will be thrown behind bars if she does not stick to the terms of her extended probation - but the star's father has blasted the move.

Michael Lohan is adamant that the 23 year old should have been handed a stint in a rehabilitation centre for failing to complete the program, and has slammed Judge Revel for extending the probation period.

He tells RadarOnline.com, “I’ve just gotten off the phone with the judge and I’m not happy. She needs to put my daughter in rehab.

"How could that judge have let her just walk in to court and walk right back out? The least they could have done was give her a drug test at the door.”
