Lindsay Lohan - Lohan Set For Early Rehab Release?

LINDSAY LOHAN could be released from her court ordered rehab stint early on the recommendation of healthcare professionals, according to a prosecutor in the actress' case.

Lohan was sentenced to 90 days in prison and a mandatory 90 days rehab for violating the terms of her probation stemming from a 2007 DUI arrest. She only served 13 days of her prison term and was transported to a treatment programme on release.

And the star could have her rehabilitation stint cut as well - Danette Meyers, the prosecutor in Lohan's case, says professionals treating the Mean Girls star are edging towards an early release.

Meyers tells Entertainment Tonight, "My understanding from conversations with (Lohan's attorney) Shawn Chapman Holley is that Miss Lohan could be released early from the treatment facility. It is looking as if that is what the healthcare professionals are going to recommend. How much earlier she could be released I'm unsure of at this point. I will follow what the healthcare professionals advise.

"That could involve follow-up treatment for Miss Lohan. However, it is my understanding that it is looking like the healthcare professionals will be recommending that she be released earlier than the 90 days Judge Revel previously ordered."

Judge Martha Revel, who presided Lohan's sentencing, excused herself from the case last week (06Aug10) after she was accused of contacting staff at a different California rehabilitation clinic without first notifying Lohan's lawyers.
