Liverpool To Host First Beatles Day

The 10 July (08) date will mark the 44th anniversary of the Fab Four's return to their hometown after touring in America in 1964.

Thousands of inflatable guitars and wigs in the band's trademark mop-top hairstyle will be on sale across the British city, while businesses have been asked to decorate their establishments with related memorabilia.

Local radio stations will be playing the band's hits and encouraging listeners to phone in to tell personal anecdotes about the fourpiece, reports the Liverpool Echo.
