Listen: Paul Mccartney's New Single Feat Eric Clapton

It was announced on Monday (December 19, 2011) that Paul McCartney would return with his first studio album in five years on February 6, 2012. The former Beatle has teamed up with Grammy Award-winning producer Tommy LiPuma to create a "deeply personal journal through classic American compositions" and he's called upon some of the U.S's biggest names to lend a hand.

MCCartney, 62, has collaborated with Diana Krall and her band, Stevie Wonder and legendary guitarist Eric Clapton on the currently untitled new album - with the latter playing on 'My Valentine', which is available to listen to below. With some intricate acoustic guitar playing from Clapton accompanied by a soothing piano track from Paul, the laid back song bobs along nicely, with lyrics including, "And i will love her for life, and I will never let a day go by, without remembering the reasons why, she makes me certain, that I can fly". The formers Beatles man has enjoyed relative success in the past decade, scoring chart hits with his 2005 album 'Chaos and Creation In The Backyard' and 'Memory Almost Full' in 2007. He also recorded 'Electric Arguments' in 2008 with YOUTH under the moniker The Firemen.

It's been a hectic end to the year for MCCartney, who as well as beginning a UK tour, is settling into married life with Nancy Shevell, whom he married in October 2011.

I hope the rest of Paul's new album is as good as this! Clapton plays some very tasty guitar to fit the song perfectly and Paul's voice sounds wonderful in this range. And how can you go wrong working with Diana Krall!!
