Ling Charged With Petty Theft
LATEST: Chinese actress Bai Ling has been charged with petty theft following her recent arrest on suspicion of shoplifting.
The Crow star was picked up by police on 13 February (08) after allegedly walking into a terminal gift shop at Los Angeles International Airport and walking away with two magazines and a pack of batteries without paying for the goods - worth just $16.22 (GBP8.11).
Ling has since insisted the episode was just part of a "crazy day", blaming the incident on the pressures caused by the "huge problem" of breaking up with her boyfriend just before Valentine's Day (14Feb08).
However, Los Angeles authorities have decided to charge the 37-year-old with petty theft. Her arraignment is set for Wednesday (05Mar08), reports website TMZ.com.
