Lindsay Lohan - Lindsay Lohan Late For Scary Movie 5 Premiere

Lindsay Lohan caused chaos at the Los Angeles premiere of Scary Movie 5 by arriving at the event 30 minutes after the red carpet closed.

The Mean Girls star, who makes a brief appearance in the spoof film opposite Charlie Sheen, left guests and reporters waiting at the movie's official L.A. screening on Thursday night (11Apr13).

Lohan turned up 30 minutes after the red carpet was officially closed, just as the movie screening was due to be getting started at the city's ArcLight Cinerama Dome. She was able to quickly pose for some pictures with Sheen before hurrying inside the cinema.

The actress hinted at the drama in a post on her Twitter.com page on Thursday, revealing she had been to see a dentist in the hours before the premiere. In a message directed at her dentist, she writes, "Sorry for the delay... but thank you for your amazing help today best dentist ever."

Talking to reporters at the premiere prior to Lohan's arrival, the film's director David Zucker revealed the troubled star had been late numerous times when she was due on set, but insisted she is still a good actress.

He says, "She's a troubled human and she was late a lot to the set (but) she knew her lines and she's a good actress... This seems to be the business for all these addictions and craziness. Anybody has the potential to come back and straighten out."

Actress Ashley Tisdale, who also appears in the film, adds of Lohan, "I just know that she's a really talented actress, so I think if anything I just would love to see her do more movies. I've known her for a really long time."

Lohan is due to begin a 90-day stint in rehab by 2 May (13) as part of her punishment for lying to police over a car crash in California last summer (12).

Ariana, Zooey, J-Lo, Miley! When Actresses Become Songstresses 4306712 News

There seems to be a special musical buzz in the entertainment business at the moment reserved for screen actresses who are wanting to spread their wings in their career - and maybe earn some more money too. Whether it's Nickelodeon star Ariana Grande blowing everyone away with her stunning vocal range as she gears up to release her second album this summer, or indie favourite Jenny Lewis becoming ever more successful with her solo singing career after a good three years fronting a band, it appears that some actresses just can't resist testing their pipes in the recording studio. Even Hollywood sensation Scarlett Johansson dipped her toes in musical waters back in 2008 with her well-praised debut 'Anywhere I Lay My Head'.

While we're half expecting Keira Knightley to release a record any day now after singing on her latest drama 'Begin Again', we look at the film world's biggest female musical successes.

Jenny Lewis promoJenny Lewis: Singer-songwriter Jenny Lewis this week released Voyager, her critically acclaimed third studio album. Although best known for her time fronting indie favourites, Rilo Kiley, music wasn't actually Lewis's first career choice, instead the Vegas native was intially known as an actress. Her early showbiz experience mainly consisted of TV roles, with small parts in the likes of 'Baywatch', 'Brooklyn Bridge' and 'The New Twilight Zone' in the 80s and early 90s as well as film stints on 'Troop Beverly Hills' and 'The Wizard'. Her last major acting venture came with 1995's black and white drama 'Don's Plum' alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire before she formed Rilo Kiley with then-boyfriend Blake Sennett.

Jennifer Lopez promoJennifer Lopez: The Jenny from the block, who would eventually become J-Lo, actually started her showbiz career as a dancer, on comedy series ‘In Living Colour’. Lopez’s dancing skills were impressive enough to land her a job touring with Janet Jackson in 1993, but she declined instead deciding to give acting a shot. Lopez’s early acting career included small roles in films such as My Family and Money Train, before she landed her big break, starring as tragic pop star Selena in the 1997 biopic. A year later she starred alongside George Clooney in thriller Out of Sight. Lopez then set about conquering the music world in 1999 with the release of her debut album On the 6 and she hasn't looked back since. Although Lopez still occasionally acts, she is arguably best known now for her musical talents which she displayed most recently with new album 'A.K.A.', released in June and once again landing her a space in the US chart's top 10.

Miley Cyrus promoMiley Cyrus: Miley might have come from a musical family, (well Billy Ray Cyrus is her father), but the famous twerker actually started out as an actress. Cyrus's first acting role came on medical drama 'Doc', where she acted alongside her father in three episodes, she also had a small role in Tim Burton's Big Fish. But Miley's big break came in 2006 when she starred in Disney series' Hannah Montana'. In the show Cyrus played a normal girl who moonlighted as a pop star, a role which would help her transition into the music business. Miley's first musical release was the soundtrack to Hannah Montana's first season, but Cyrus quickly became regarded as a singer in her own right and she released her first album a year later. Nowadays Hannah Montana is long over and Miley Cyrus has become a household name, leaving her Disney alter-ego well and truly behind. While she might've followed in the footsteps of Hilary Duff, who starred in Disney Channel's 'Lizzie McGuire', it seems Miley has encouraged plenty of other teen TV stars in their ambitions with 'Wizards of Waverly Place' actress Selena Gomez kicking off her music career in 2009 and 'Camp Rock''s Demi Lovato also making her mark around the same time. Even Lindsay Lohan hit the studio several years before that. It seems Disney is the new platform for broadening ambitions.

Kylie Minogue performingKylie Minogue: It’s easy to forget that Kylie Minogue wasn't always the pint-sized queen of pop. Way back in the mid 1980s, before Pete Waterman got hold of her, Kylie was an actress starring in Australia’s biggest soap opera, 'Neighbours'. Minogue played the role of Charlene, a school girl turned mechanic whose love interest was another future pop star, Jason Donovan. After performing covers of ‘I Got You Babe’ and ‘The Loco-motion’ during a charity event in 1987, Minogue was offered a recording contract with Mushroom Records. A year later Kylie’s musical career was blossoming both at home and in the UK and she made the decision to say goodbye to acting. Since then the now 46 year old has sold over 70 million records worldwide and has become a member of Australian Recording Industry Association Hall of Fame.

Ariana Grande promoAriana Grande: Ariana Grande might be just 21 years old but she’s a;ready had sucres as both an actress and singer. Her first big break break came when she was cast as Cat Valentine in Nickelodeon series 'Victorious' in 2011. She then landed her own spin off series, Sam and Cat alongside ‘iCarly’ star Jennette McCurdy, which latest for just one season. However by the time she’d landed her own sitcom, Grande had also made the move into music. She released her debut album Yours Truly in 2013 to critical acclaim, but Ariana would become a fully fledged pop star this summer with the success of single 'Problem' from her upcoming second album. Becoming one of the summer's biggest hits, 'Problem' reached number one on the UK Singles Chart and number two on the Bllboard Hot 100.

Zooey Deschanel promoZooey Deschanel: Given how her career has evolved, it’s fitting that Zooey Deschanel first came to our attention after her role in Almost Famous, a movie about music. Since finding fame as an actress, the future ‘New Girl’ couldn't help showing off her vocal talents wherever possible, in films such as Elf and 500 Days of Summer. But in 2007 Zooey officially made the move into music when she formed the band She & Him with musician M.Ward. So far the indie duo have released four albums, including 2011’s festive offering, A Very She & Him Christmas. Last month the duo hit the big time when they signed a new record deal with major label Columbia Records, ahead of their fifth album’s release later this year.

Juliette Lewis promoJuliette Lewis: Probably not the first woman who's going to pop into your head when you think of actresses turned singers but, after her Academy Award nomination following her role in Martin Scorsese's 'Cape Fear' remake back in 1991, it seemed a screen career just wasn't enough for budding rocker Juliette Lewis. After further blockbusters such as 'Natural Born Killers', 'From Dusk till Dawn', 'The Evening Star' and 'Starsky & Hutch', she released her debut album '...Like a Bolt of Lightning' in 2004 alongside her band Juliette and the Licks. She proceeded to release two more over the next consecutive years and made her last record, 'Terra Incognita', in 2009. She's back to acting now, but we wouldn't be disappointed to see another musical venture.

Taylor Momsen promoTaylor Momsen: Another actress who invoked her inner rock goddess was 'Gossip Girl''s Taylor Momsen, whose early acting role in 2000's 'Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas' would never have suggested a heavily eyelinered and scantily clad future. Her success as the lead singer in The Pretty Reckless has been phenomenal as of late, with her March 2014 album 'Going to Hell' reaching the top 5 in the US album chart - quite a remarkable progression since they started out in 2010. However, we are still missing her face on our TV screens and awaiting at least a temporary screen comeback.

Lindsay Lohan Contemplating Permanent Move To The U.K. 4284927 News

Lindsay Lohan is in love with London!

In fact, the 28 year-old actress is even considering to move to the capital city on a permanent basis.

Lohan, who moved from New York to California in her teen years, is wanting to become a resident of the U.K. because she is more than "someone you take photos of."

The revelation came when the troubled star spoke with the BBC before making her West End debut in David Mamet's 'Speed-the-Plow' later this year.

"I think I am making the move to come over here," she said about contemplating a permanent move to London. "I've noticed when I'm watching the news here and such, you guys have such a different outlook."

One other positive aspect about living across the pond is that she can finally concentrate on her craft as an actress, and not be exploited by the paparazzi for her celebrity status.

"In the U.S., starting at 5 p.m., its TMZ and all of these shows that are just talking about people's personal lives that are in the industry," she explained. "Here, I don't notice any of that. It's more news and politics and music, it feels really good to be able to turn on the TV and not see everything be about gossip."

In recent years Lohan's stints in rehab, battles with addiction and run-ins with the law have been heavily covered in the media in the U.S., but the 'Mean Girls' actress doesn't regret anything.

"There are certain things that I would change - I've put myself in bad situations - but I don't regret anything that's happened because I wouldn't be who I am today," she said. "I wouldn't have learned the things that I know, I wouldn't be here doing this right now."

Lindsay admits that her wild antic has made people look at her as more of a celebrity than an actress, but she hopes starring in a West End production will hopefully redefine her career.

Could Lindsay Lohan Be About To Make The U.K. Her Permanent Home? 4284723 News

Lindsay Lohan has been spending a lot of time in London recently, ahead of her West-End debut in September. But it appears the actress might be about to make the UK her permeant home, in order to escaped America’s celebrity obsessed culture.

Speaking to the BBC, the actress said, "I think I am making the move to come over here...I've noticed when I'm watching the news here and such, you guys have such a different outlook.” Adding that, "In the U.S., starting at 5 p.m., it's TMZ and all of these shows that are just talking about people's personal lives that are in the industry. Lindsay will take to the stage in London’s West-End this September in a revival of David Mamet’s play, Speed-The-Plow. The gig is the latest attempt by Lindsay to get her acting career back on track, after the former Mean Girls star has become more famous for her antics rather than her work.

Speaking about the tabloid’s obsession with her personal life Lindsay said, “I don’t understand the crazy fascination with me because it kind of scares me,” Before adding “I’m so numb to it at this point that it doesn’t affect me personally whereas in the past I think it did a little bit.”

So far 2014 has been another up and down year for the often troubled star. In March her reality series, ‘Lindsay’ premiered on Oprah Winfrey’s OWN network and was met with mixed reviews and poor ratings. The series finished in April with Winfrey deciding not to renew for a second season. But if Lindsay can keep things together in London and prove her critics wrong on the West End, then surely a career resurgence can’t be too far off.

Lindsay Lohan is determined to turn over a new leaf and promises she won't miss any shows whilst performing on the West End. The 28-year-old sounded mature and reflective during an interview with the BBC. The actress is due to appear on the West End in David Mamet's Speed-The-Plow, beginning in September.

Lohan is hoping to get her career back on track after her stints in rehab over the past few years and she is determined to make a change. Speaking to the BBC, Lohan assured the interviewer she would not be missing any performances of the play and simply stated, "That's not going to happen. That's not on the cards. It's not. I'm at a place in my life where I like the commitment. I'm looking forward to that part of it."

Lohan also stated that she is excited for the new experience of appearing on stage, as she will not just be making her West End debut at the Playhouse Theatre but also her stage debut. The Mean Girls star said "I think you go through phrases in life when you hit this wall when you want to do something new and experience something different. I think I just am in a place now where this is just a right time."

She further emphasised how she is hoping people will remember she is an actress first and foremost and a "celebrity" purely as a bi-product of her career. Lohan said she hopes "people can focus on the fact that I'm in this industry because I'm an actress, an artist, and not just someone you take photos of."

The Canyons actress also revealed a more vulnerable side and explained how she likes to feel "safe". Lohan implied that she is constantly concerned about fan and media attention, describing the "crazy fascination" with her as "scary". She reiterated on a number of occasions how she feels "almost paranoid" at the constant attention, citing one example: "My friends think I'm neurotic, but I will hear a flash of an iPhone camera, I will hear the shutter from a mile across the room. I will feel it. I'm so used to thinking like that and feeling almost paranoid sometimes and protective of myself now whereas I wasn't in the past."

As for her past, Lohan is adamant that she has learned from it and thus has no regrets. She admitted whilst there were times she found herself in difficult situations, she wouldn't be who she is today. Speaking on the matter, Lohan said: "There are certain things I would change, that I've but myself in bad situations, but I don't regret anything that's happened because I wouldn't be who I am today; I wouldn't have learn the things that I know; I wouldn't be here doing this right now."

What do you think, does Lacey look a bit like Lohan? She certainly acts like her

The character in question, Lacey Jonas, is an air brained Hollywood starlet concerned with her appearance and escaping the paparazzi. As TMZ reports, in the game, one mission involves rescuing Jonas from paparazzi, whilst another requires the player to sneak into a hotel in order to film Jonas having sex. As the Independent reports, the character allegedly based on Lohan shouts during the former scenario "I am so f*cking fat, oh my God they cannot get a shot of me," and "Don't hurt them [the paparazzi], I don't need any more lawsuits!"

TMZ first broke the news in December and it was quickly brushed away as being merely scandal mongering. But, as it was revealed today (3rd July) Lohan's legal representatives are filing a suit against the game's creators Rockstar and Take Two Interactive.

Lohan's case appears to rest on the two key points. Firstly, the character does bear a passing resemblance to the actress. Although it could quite easily be, as TMZ suggests, Kate Upton or Shelby Welinder. Secondly, the hotel in which the character is required to film Jonas having sex resembles L.A.'s Chateau Marmont. Lohan frequents the hotel and also lived there in 2012 whilst filming the Elizabeth Taylor biopic Liz & Dick

Presumably the creators of Grand Theft Auto V will be subpoenaed and asked, under oath, to reveal who was the inspiration behind Lohan and if they did use the actress as a basis for Lacey Jonas. However, it seems unlikely Lohan will win this battle as the character would be considered a parody and not an actual representative of the actress. Thus, under US Copyright laws, is considered legal.

Can Lindsay Lohan Actually Nail GTA Creators In Court For Using Her Likeness? 4269700 News

Lindsay Lohan might lead an erratic life, but Grand Theft Auto-worthy? That might be for the court to decide soon, as Lohan has reportedly filed a lawsuit against the creators of GTA V, a company called Take-Two Interactive and subsidiary publisher and developer Rockstar Games. The lawsuit has reportedly been in the works since last December, when Lohan first started looking into her legal options.

The character in question is called Lacey Jonas – can you see any similarities yet – a moody, spoiled Hollywood starlet, who refers to herself as “the voice of a generation.” Aside from a couple of character images bearing a suspicious resemblance to Lohan, however, there is little in the game to suggest that Lacey is anything more than a generic representation of a Hollywood starlet.

“The portraits of the Plaintiff (Lohan) incorporated her image, likeness, clothing, outfits, Plaintiff’s clothing line products, ensemble in the form of hats, hair style, sunglasses, jean shorts worn by the Plaintiff that were for sale to the public at least two years” the suit claims (quote via Forbes).

So maybe it’s not that little, after all. Even so, despite the fact that Lohan’s legal team probably would not launch a lawsuit, unless there was some case to be made here, Rockstar would ordinarily be protected by the First Amendment in this case.

Few people sue over the use of their likeness in creative works. Even fewer succeed.

Per the Digital Media Law Project: “As a general matter, you will not be held liable for using someone’s name or likeness in a creative, entertaining, or artistic work that is transformative, meaning that you add some substantial creative element over and above the mere depiction of the person. In other words, the First Amendment ordinarily protects you if you use someone’s name or likeness to create something new that is recognizably your own, rather than something that just evokes and exploits the person’s identity.”

Lohan Is "Nervous But Excited" About West End David Mamet Debut 4261127 News

Lindsay Lohan is set to make her West End and stage debut in David Mamet's Speed-The-Plow. The production could not be more appropriate for the 27-year-old actress as it satirises Hollywood and the pressures and debauchery which occur behind the scenes. Lohan certainly knows how fickle the film industry can be and the pressures, when in the public eye, to succeed. The former Disney star went through something of a rocky patch starting in 2010 and has only appeared healthy again.

Lindsay Lohan will play Karen in Speed-The-Plow.

Lohan is set to play Karen, a secretary working for a Hollywood producer, who is courted and seduced by two producers causing to complications in their working relationship. When the play was first performed on Broadway in 1988, Madonna took the lead as Karen. Since its debut the role of Karen in Speed-The-Plow has been portrayed by Elisabeth Moss and Alicia Silverstone, as the BBC reports.

Elisabeth Moss played Karen in a 2008 revival of David Mamet's play.

Lohan recently attended Moschino's fashion show in London and spoke to the New York Times whilst at the event. She discussed her upcoming stage role, saying "It's the first time I've done a stage play or anything like that. I'm nervous but I'm excited."

The Liz & Dick actress is probably justified in being nervous as, not only is she making her stage debut, but her acting recently has been highly criticised. Her last film The Canyons, which also focussed on Hollywood, was panned by critics. Most damning of all was the response to Lohan, who fresh out of rehab, was branded as lacking any acting ability. However, it should be noted, the script and characterisation was not treated kindly either.

Speed-The-Plow starring Lindsay Lohan will be at the Playhouse Theatre from 24 September to 29 November 2014.

Lindsay Lohan vs Kate Moss Over Jamie Hince? The Story Behind The Latest Showbiz Feud 4257374 News

Lindsay Lohan hasn’t been in London too long, but the actress is said to have already made herself a model enemy in Kate Moss. According to reports last weekend in The Sun newspaper, Kate is said to have confronted Li-Lo while they were both dining at London’s swanky Chiltern Firehouse restaurant. What makes it all the more interesting is the alleged fight is all said to be over the model’s rockstar husband Jamie Hince. So what’s going on between Lindsay and Jamie that made Kate see red?

Lindsay LohanA smiling Lindsay presumably pre Kate Moss

We all know Lindsay Lohan has a history of getting herself in trouble, actually there’s probably a queue of people waiting to have it out with the actress after her ‘sex list’ was published. But Kate’s supposed beef with Lindsay all seems to be over something which appears entirely more innocent. In the article, published by The Sun, a source reports that "Lindsay and Kate had a huge row at the Chiltern Firehouse. People around them noticed it was going on.” The argument was said to have “gone on for a while” with the model allegedly “ranting about it to fellow diners.” The article also stated that there was “no love lost” between the two ladies.

More: Has Lindsay also been streaking in London?

The tension is believed to have arisen after Lindsay had been contacting Kate’s husband, The Kills singer Jamie Hince. But why would Lohan be contacting the singer of The Kills? Well, you might remember that back when Lindsay was still known as an actress (circa 2004), she was also an aspiring singer and would release two albums, Speak and A Little More Personal (Raw), before seemingly ending her recording career in 2005. But in December last year it looked as if Lindsay could be planning a musical comeback and she was enlisting one Jamie Hince for help.

In December Lindsay posted a series of photos to her Instagram account which seemed to suggest she was working with Jamie. One picture showed a poor of worn old boots and was captioned “Nice boots #jamiehince #thekills”, while another showed a signed copy of The Kill’s 'Satellite' single. In other images Lindsay was seen in a recording studio sitting in front of a mixing desk. But nothing seemed to come of the supposed recording sessions and no more was made of it, until now of course.

Kate MossKate Moss, hands off her husband

So now Lindsay is in London preparing to make her West End debut, it seems she might have decided to hit up old friend Jamie, maybe to make some more music together, who knows. But from reports, Jamie’s wife Kate doesn’t appear to think a Lohan/Hince musical collaboration is a worthwhile use of her husband’s time. But now the two have allegedly had it out is this the end of the Lohan/Moss feud? Perhaps, though really, we can’t imagine Lindsay to stay quiet, especially if she really did receive such a public dressing down from Kate. Reserve your ringside seats at the Chiltern Firehouse because Lohan v Moss round two could end up being your evening's entertainment.

Lohan's London: After Streaking In Selfridges, Is Lindsay Feuding With Kate Moss? 4255446 News

Another week, another celebrity fight. According to several sources, the latest celeb feud is between Lindsay Lohan and Kate Moss over – can you guess – a man. Lohan, 27, reportedly reached out to Moss’ husband, Jamie Hinse after she touched down in London, according to The Sun.

Is Lohan trying to push Kate Moss' buttons?

"The argument went on for a while and Kate seemed extremely annoyed with Lindsay for contacting Jamie," a source said of the two women when they bumped into each other at celebrity hotspot Chiltern Firehouse. "She was ranting about it to a fellow diner at the restaurant."

Lohan has been working on an album for the past year and is said to have collaborated with Hinse. That might have to change, however, as Moss has reportedly asked Lindsay not to contact her husband.

"(Kate) knew they'd bump into each other eventually as they're both out on the town so much," the source said.

The anonymous source might be referring to Lohan's new living situation. The actress is reportedly ditching Hollywood to live in London on a permanent basis. It’s not a great start to Lohan’s rumoured move across the pond. The Mean Girls star is reportedly looking to make London her new base of operations. The actress allegedly started her new life in style – by streaking in Selfridges.

Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton, Heidi Montag: Stars Who Tried (And Failed) To Launch A Music Career 4248382 News

If the reports are to be believed Kim Kardashian could be set to revive her music career, with the new bride said to be enlisting husband Kanye West to help her crack the charts this time around. What music career? we hear you asking. Well, for those who might have forgotten, back in 2011 Kim released her first (and so far only) musical offering, the dance inspired single ‘Jam (Turn It Up)’. The song fared so badly that Kim scrapped plans for an album and quickly went back to her day job, being Kim Kardashian. But Kim isn’t the only star who once decided to try and add pop star to her CV. Can you remember any of these four's not so famous releases?

Paris Hilton

Socialite and sex tape star Paris tried to prove she really was a multi talented celebrity in 2006 when she released her self titled debut album. Critically the album wasn’t as rubbished as one might have expected it to be, although Hilton’s ‘voice’ did leave a lot to be desired. But after seven years away from the music scene, Paris (who’s now a DJ) released a new single last year featuring Lil Wayne. Never one to give up, we're told we can expect Paris's second album sometime later this year! That's right, move over Lorde, Paris Hilton is making a comeback.

Naomi Campbell

In the mid 90s, after conquering the international catwalks, supermodel Naomi Campbell decided to turn her attention to some of her other ‘talents’. The result was a critically panned ‘novel’ released in 1994 and an album curiously titled babywoman, no capitals required. The album was poorly received in the UK failing to reach even the top 75 in the album chart. However in Japan it fared much better, selling over 1 million copies. Perhaps the worst thing about babywoman, other than the title and Campbell’s voice is her attempt at covering T.Rex’s ‘Ride a White Swan’, a musical massacre, to put it mildly.

Lindsay Lohan

It’s easy forget that Lindsay Lohan is actually an actress, but it’s even easier to fail to remember that time when LiLo was also a popstar. In 2004 while Lindsay was riding high off the success of Mean Girls, she released her debut album, Speak. Commercially, Speak performed pretty well peaking at number 4 on the Billboard chart. A year later, Lohan followed up with A Little More Personal (Raw) which featured the single ‘Confessions of a Broken Heart (Daughter to Father)’ co written by Lohan. The album didn't perform as well commercially as its predecessor and Lohan’s appears to have gotten sidetracked from her music career, having failed to release any new material in over a decade.

Heidi Montag

Not satisfied with starring in 'The Hills' and being the wife of Spencer Pratt, cosmetic surgery enthusiast Heidi Montag embarked on a music career in 2010. Despite working with hit maker Cathy Dennis, Heidi’s debut album Superficial, was a critical and commercial flop. Amazingly, the publicity loving Montag blamed the album’s poor chart performance on 'a lack of promotion' rather than her complete lack of musical talent. Heidi has since gone back to appear on reality shows with husband Spencer and has hopefully abandoned any future pop plans.
