Lindsay Lohan Judges Disciplined
Judge Marsha Revel has come under fire from officials at the California Commission on Judicial Performance for meeting alone in chambers with Lohan's former lawyer Robert Shapiro, without a prosecution team member present, in 2010. The incident occurred before the actress was sentenced to 90 days in jail for breaking the terms of her 2007 arrest for driving under the influence.
Revel voluntarily stepped down from the case amid allegations she improperly contacted "participants and experts" involved without first notifying Lohan's legal team.
Judge Elden Fox took over from Revel, but his handling of the situation has also been criticised after he denied Lohan bail for the probation violation after a hearing in 2010. The harsh ruling, typically reserved for murder and rape suspects, was overturned later that day.
The Mean Girls star had her probation terminated in March (12) and recently completed her comeback TV project Liz & DICk, in which she portrays late Hollywood icon Elizabeth Taylor.
