Lily Allen's Us Visa Cancelledby Contributor | 07 August 2007
Lily Allen has had her US work visa cancelled upon arrival at Los Angeles International airport for an awards nominations party.
The singer was held for five hours at the airport due to an alleged incident in London in March which saw Allen cautioned for common assault.
Allen had flown to the US to attend the announcement of the MTV Video Music Awards nominations and will still honour her commitments.
The revoking of her visa will have to be sorted out relatively soon as the singer is scheduled to tour the US next month.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Allen said that sorting out her visa was now her top priority.
"I am trying everything I can to sort this out. I don't like letting my fans down," she told the paper.
"It is my intention to play my American dates in September. This depends on the authorities granting me a new work visa.
"I want my fans to know that I will do everything I can to be back in America in September."
Allen has been a big hit in the US and is currently working on her new album in New York.
