Lily Allen Receives Bouquet Of Flowers From Tweeting Soldier
At the time Allen re-tweeted the comment and asked "How do you report someone on here. That guy I retweeted should be banned" before going on to report it to the Ministry of Defence after discovering that it came from a military man. A statement from the army on the matter said "Racism of any kind is completely unacceptable and the Army has a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of harassment and discrimination. We are aware of the alleged offensive comments and are investigating the matter. It would be inappropriate to comment further while this is ongoing."
However, it would appeal that the matter has been cleared up, according to the Metro, after he sent Allen a handwritten apology. "I have just received some flowers and a hand written apology from Harry Wilson, which I accept. I hope we can all now move on. Thank you" wrote Allen to her followers. Whether the MoD decide that's the final word on the matter is another question entirely.
