Lil Wayne Scores 100th Hit On America's R&b/hip-hop Songs Chart
The rapper enters the new countdown at 57 with his Rick Ross, Drake and French Montana collaboration Pop That, and joins Jay Z and James Brown as the only other artists to notch up 100-or-more hits on the chart, which dates back to 1942.
Jay Z leads all rappers with 108 chart titles, while Brown tops all artists with 111 entries.
It took the Godfather of Soul 33 years to land 100 hits, Jay Z 14 years and 10 months and Lil Wayne just 13 years and month - although the majority of the rap icon's chart entries are linked to other artists. Brown's hits were all solo.
Lil Wayne also boasts the third most entries on the mainstream Billboard Hot 100 chart with 102, behind the cast of Glee (203) and Elvis Presley (108).
