Lil Wayne is set to release his 'Tha Carter IV' album after his appearance on the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) on Sunday (28.08.11).
The 'Lollipop' rapper - whose record was previously due to drop on May 16 before being pushed back to June and then delayed again - is finally set to launch the LP at midnight after the show, which he thinks is an "amazing" idea.
He said in a statement: "I am extremely excited to be the first artist to utilise such an amazing idea. I hope that I can open the door for others."
'Tha Carter IV' is set to feature performances from Busta Rhymes, T-Pain, Tech N9ne, Rick Ross, John Legend, Jadakiss and Nas - and Ronald 'Slim' Williams, CEO of Cash Money Records, thinks combining the release of the album with the VMAs will make for an "unforgettable evening".
He said in a statement: "Wayne is one of the most respected and prolific artists in the industry. By pairing the release of Tha Carter IV with the VMAs, it will certainly add to the overall anticipation and excitement for fans everywhere for what will surely be an unforgettable evening."
