Lil Wayne Bids To Stall Lawsuit

Rapper LIL WAYNE is bidding to delay a lawsuit filed by a singer accusing him of stealing a sample from her song without permission.

T.I. Vs. Mayweather, And 5 Other Rappers Who Clashed With Athletes 4218117 News

T.I. and Floyd Mayweather had a pretty big bust-up at the weekend: a fight broke out after the boxer allegedly made some untoward comments about improper friendship between the boxer and the rapper's wife, Tameka "Tiny" Cottle. Punches and chairs were reportedly thrown in the fight between the two celebs who were filmed brawling in a Vegas Fatburger.

In honour of the sheer scandal the incident has generated, we've rounded up a list of five other examples where rappers have battled with sports stars, indicating an almost cat-and-dog-like relationship between the two professionals.

1) 50 Cent Vs. Floyd Mayweather

So...it's not the first time Mayweather has had a little beef with a famed rap-smith. The pair haven't reconciled since a fight that started years ago when they fell out. In late 2012, 50 claimed that the quarrel started when Floyd "Money" Mayweather in running his Mayweather Promotions company before turning himself in to serve a three-month jail sentence that ended in August.

More: T.I. and Game in face-off with LAPD after bloody brawl.

However, when he came out of jail, 50 was shocked to see the friend that he'd helped splashing out on gold chains and Lamborghini cars. The rapper confronted the boxer and a rapid and angry Twitter back-and-forth began. The situation culminated in blows at least twice, according to MTV but the 'In Da Club' MC - much like T.I. wasn't about to let the media jump on the fact he'd been walloped by the boxer. "I won, every time," he claimed. "It was more out of reflex though. He punched me."

 2) Lil Wayne Vs. Chris Bosh

Lil Wayne and the NBA star Chris Bosh had a big falling out last year when the rapper claimed he had slept with the Miami Heat star's wife and now baby-mamma, Adrienne. Weezy had boasted about having sex with Adrienne in a YouTube video, saying "You let them n*ggas know I'm from the streets so I ain't going on no Twitter beef -- take it to the f*cking streets n*gga. F*ck all these n*ggas. F*ck LeBron, f*ckD-Wade, f*ck all them n*ggas man. And, and, and I f*cked Chris Bosh's wife."

It didn't exactly come to fisticuffs between the pair but there's a little frost in the air nonetheless: Wayne has never apologised for his claims and Bosh has refused to acknowledge what Wayne said about him during the concert in which he called out the entire Miami Heat team after his alleged banning last summer. "[Sleeping with Chris Bosh's wife?] I said that? [laughs] I was too turnt up that night. I was a little too turnt up," said Wayne on Jimmy Kimmel, laughing off his comments.

3) Jay Z Vs. DeShawn Stevenson

This beef was actually pretty short-lived and started off with Jay Z's good friend LeBron James and Stevenson clashing during the 2008 NBA Playoffs. Stevenson allegedly called LeBron "overrated" and LeBron retaliated by saying that "responding to [Stevenson] would be like Jay Z firing back at Soulja Boy."

Stevenson responded to Soulja's comments by giving him courtside seats to a game which is when Jay Z offered his two cents on the matter by releasing a freestyle Stevenson-bashing verse over Too $hort's 'Blow the Whistle.' The fight had a pretty short half-life though and died off a few days later when LeBron's Cavaliers knocked off Stevenson's Wizards.

4) LL Cool J Vs. Mike Tyson

Former friends LL Cool J and boxer Mike Tyson used to be close but all that changed when Iron Mike agreed to record some "Yo Canibus..." lyrics for rapper Canibus' 1998 diss song, Second Round K.O.' Thing allegedly bubbled over when Canibus got the tattoo that LL had always wanted: a picture of a microphone on his arm, according to All Hip Hop.

LL Cool J made sure to respond in 'The Ripper Strikes Back' rapping "Heard that convicted rapist on the record too, fresh out of jail, ass cheeks still black and blue." Ouch. Thankfully, things never actually came to blows but there was some sure hostility from both sides. The fight was soon forgotten after LL rose to stardom and Canibus' debut flopped.

5) Kanye West Vs. Kris Humphries

We couldn't write a run-down of the most notorious rapper vs. sportsman clashes without mentioning Kanye West and Kris Humphries historic animosity. Before Kimye was even a thing, the rapper admitted in a 2012 rap that he was in love with Kris' then-wife Kim Kardashian. "And I'll admit, I fell in love with Kim/'Round the same time she had fell in love with him/Well, that's cool, baby girl, do ya thing/Lucky I ain't have Jay drop him from the team," he rapped on 'Cold.'

More Kim Kardashian changes surname to West.

The basketball star was sharp-tongued in his response, tweeting "I'm up at Brooklyn! @S_C_ 'lucky I didn't have Jay drop me from the team.' lol!" after resigning from the Nets not long after. The pair never actually had it out with each other but if we're talking about Kim, of course, Kanye won.

Lil Wayne Calls Out Justin Bieber's Longtime Manager Scooter Braun 4215232 News

Lil Wayne is not happy with the longtime manager of Justin Bieber, Scooter Braun, after he allegedly made negative comments about Lil Twist.

The 31 year-old rapper seemed to be sticking up for his fellow Young Money rapper as he calls out Scooter in a video that was released on DJ Scoop Doo's website Bread Over Be.

But what was the root of Lil Wayne's anger?

Lil Twist used to be best friends with Justin Bieber, but the pair have had several run-ins with the law, and as a result of this, late last year Twist was reportedly kicked out of Bieber's Calabasas, California, home.

The Young Money rapper has since been looked upon as a bad influence to the Canadian megastar, whose own legal woes have been a hot topic most of this year, but it is obvious Lil Wayne wants to put a stop to this.

The video, shot on Sunday (May 26th), shows Lil Twist and Young Weezy stepping off a private jet that has just returned to the US from the Cannes Film Festival.

While looking directly into the camera, with Lil Twist by his side, Wayne says, "I heard this bitchass n-a Scooter talkin' sh- about my little brother."

"N-a this my motherf-in' brother, anything you got to say, when you see me say it to my motherf-in' face," the irritated rapper continues. "And if you do happen to say it to my motherf-in' face, I ain't gonna make you eat them words n-a, I'ma put them bitches on your tombstone."

At the end of the 56-sceond clip Wayne ruthlessly states: "F- you Scooter!"

Since this video went viral, Bieber hasn't directly addressed Wayne's rant but he did share a photograph of himself and Scooter hugging each other on Instagram. The caption simply read, "All love," which indicates Bieber is sticking with Scooter despite being close with both Lily Wayne and Lil Twist.

Lil Wayne's Label Sued For Breach Of Contract By Aspiring Rap Group 4174902 News

Record label owners Lil Wayne and Bryan 'birdman' Williams are facing a breach of contract lawsuit from teen rap group W3 The Future amid allegations the youngsters were axed from their roster for no good reason.

The trio signed a joint deal between Wayne's Young Money Entertainment and Williams' Cash Money Records a year ago (May13), when the rappers were reportedly promised $600,000 (£375,000) as an advance to cover the costs of recording their debut album.

Bosses at W3 The Future's Grassroots Production company, who have filed the suit on the band's behalf, claim label chiefs only covered the initial recording fees, but the balance of the $600,000 was not paid, even though the aspiring stars turned in their album on time.

According to the legal papers, obtained by Tmz.com, a label representative simply told them, "Cash Money is not moving forward with this project."

Lil Wayne and Williams have yet to respond to the accusations.

Lil Wayne praises Kanye West as a 'genius' 4118190 News

Lil Wayne thinks Kanye West is a ''genius''.

The 'Lollipop' hitmaker has defended the controversial rapper and insists he's willing to back up anything Kanye does after being left dazzled by his recent 'Yeezus Tour'.

Speaking to Elliott Wilson for his CRWN series, Lil Wayne said: ''I rock with anything he does. That man's a genius. He did a whole show with a mask on.

''When he came out with the mask, I was like, 'This n***a crazy,' so then two songs go by, 'This n***a crazy, he still got that mask on.' That's crazy as hell ' y'all know I couldn't do no s**t like that.

''I found myself out of breath in that b***h. Now you know that's a show.''

Lil Wayne - who is the founder of record label Young Money Entertainment - also explained why he stopped referring to himself as, ''The best rapper in the world'', after signing Drake and Nicki Minaj.

He said: ''I have awesome artists, simple and plain. At that time I didn't have that, I [didn't] care who on the mic. But now I have artists [and I say], 'I want you to be better than me.' Yes. I want everybody to feel like they're the best at what they do. It ain't about that now, it's about us.''

Lil Wayne Reveals 'Tha Carter V' Will Be Last Solo Album 4110377 News

Lil Wayne has shocked the hip-hop world!

The 31 year-old rapper revealed that 'Tha Carter V' will be his last solo album.

Wayne made the retirement plans announcement when being interviewed by MTV.com this past Wednesday (March 12th).

"I personally plan on this being my final solo album, yes and it's definitely the final Carter album. It's the final Carter album. It's stopping at five," he said.

To further reiterate how serious this claim was, Wayne added, "I didn't smile when I said it."

But the New Orleans native did admit he would only consider doing another if the money was right, but there needs to be a lot of it.

"25 to 35 million would get me to do another solo album after this," he told the website.

Although the album doesn't have an official release date, it is expected to be available for purchase on May 5th, due to Drake bringing Lil Wayne to the stage on one of his show's last month and making this claim.

But don't worry if you're a fan, Wayne did reveal he will still feature on tracks from the Young Money Cash Money Records' artists, such as Nicki Minaj, Tyga and Drake.

"I plan on it being my final solo album," he said. "Whenever I have to pitch in for a Young Money album, a Like Father, Like Son album and something like that and maybe something out the blue."

It also worth to note just because Wayne plans on taking a break after 'Tha Cater V' is released, doesn't mean he didn't work any less than on his other studio sets.

The 'A Milli' rapper told MTV, "It seems like it will be impossible for me to work this hard again for anything else."

T-pain Battled Booze And Depression Problem After Lil Wayne Project Fell Through 4093273 News

Rapper/singer T-Pain fell into a deep, booze-fuelled depression in 2010 when plans to release a joint album with Lil Wayne were derailed by the Lollipop hitmaker's prison term.

The pair had teamed up in 2008 to release a mixtape under the name T-Wayne and had planned to follow it up with a full studio release.

However, the record was delayed as Wayne was sentenced to a year behind bars for gun charges, and T-Pain admits the setback hit him hard because he had been banking on the project to help him secure a record deal with his pal's Young Money Entertainment.

Wayne walked free from prison in 2011, but by that time, T-Pain reveals he had developed a heavy booze addiction.

He tells VladTv.com, "I started really taking a break from this s**t (music industry) because I was going crazy and I started drinking. I started really f**kin' drinking too much because I was depressed and I was like, 'F**k, Wayne in jail.' It started getting real crazy for me (sic)..."

T-Pain claims his personal troubles, coupled with a miscommunication between his management team and Wayne's bosses Bryan 'Birdman' Williams and his brother, Ronald, eventually cost him a spot on the Young Money Entertainment roster, and he ended up signing to RCA Records for the 2011 release of his solo album, Revolver.

The much-hyped T-Wayne album has still yet to be released.
