Lil Wayne Announces 'Dedication 4' Release Date On Twitter

Lil Wayne has announced his highly anticipated new album will be released on August 30, 2012, via Twitter.

Dedication 4 is going to be released at the end of the month, Lil Wayne declared in a pithy twitter post. "D4 aug-30," and the rapper need say no more. The album was set to be released the week before, but would have collided with 2 Chain's new release, Based On A T.R.U Story. But it wasn't through compassion for his fellow rapper, though, no; 'Weezy' wanted everyone to focus on his album with no distractions. Wayne enjoyed tremendous success with one of his previous releases, Tha Carter Iii, which was the biggest selling album in America that year. The record pushed him from worldwide rap fame, to worldwide notoriety, and a documentary film soon followed. Dedication 4 is sure to build on the 29-year-old's success.

The New Orleans born superstar can't escape the news; earlier on today Contactmusic reported on his words that annoyed U.S Senator Adam Smith. Wayne had the audacity to express his thoughts on the Senator's hometown by saying "I don't like New York City." Having taken particular exception to these words, Smith called a press conference to address the issue especially, and order an apology from the controversial rapper, for probably the least controversial thing he's ever done. Smith cites New York's birth of Hip Hop at the core of his dismay for Wayne's words.
