The internet star is out to prove that even cats can record music.
Okay, so we've heard about quite a few ridiculous musical projects in our time, but this really takes the kitty biscuit. It's always a sign of how cats are taking over the internet whenever someone's particularly adorable feline rises to fame, but when they go on to record an album? That's a new one. And yet, Lil Bub (short for Lillian Bubbles), a cat famous for her unusual appearance has done just that. Apparently.
Lil Bub is a cat of many talents
She's releasing an electronic album entitled 'Science & Magic' with the help of her best friends Matt Tobey and Mike Bridavsky and many of her fans - including rock musician Andrew W.K. - are really excited about it.
'First of all, it should be understood that this album is a genuine musical experience', Andrew insists. 'Also, it should be understood that this is not a novelty item or a cheap and disillusioning gimmick. This is a bonafide and musically gratifying concept album, which entirely emerged from the soul and spirit of Lil BUB herself.'
It's a ten track project that's now available for pre-order, and while you might think it's the most insane suggestion anyone has ever had for an album, it's worth the purchase. After all, it's for a good cause with a quarter of sales profits being donated to Lil BUB's Big FUND for the ASPCA - a campaign that aims to help pets with special needs.
Lil Bub, who resides in Bloomington, Indiana, was the runt of her litter, subsequently suffering from osteopetrosis and an underdeveloped jaw that - coupled with her lack of teeth - forces her tongue to loll out of her mouth. But she's certainly proved she still has star potential having starred in her own documentary 'Lil Bub & Friendz' and web series 'Lil BUB's Big SHOW'. Her show has seen her rub furry shoulders with various members of the music industry including Steve Albini, Kelley Deal and Murder by Death.
'Science & Magic' will be released on December 4th 2015 through Joyful Noise Recordings.
