Lewis Lands Lifetime Award From Friars Club
Veteran funnyman JERRY LEWIS was the toast of America's comedy circuit on Wednesday night (29Sep10) when he was honoured by New York's legendary Friars Club.
The entertainment legend was handed a prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to comedy at the Friars headquarters in Manhattan.
Director Quentin Tarantino was also due to come under the Friars spotlight on Friday (01Oct10) for one of the organisation's famous 'roasts' but his tribute was postponed following the sudden death of his film editor friend Sally Menke.
But the moviemaker made sure he was on hand to attend Lewis' celebration and took the stage to pay tribute to his longtime hero, according to to the New York Daily News.
