Instruments and equipment from the estate of late guitar great Les Paul are to be sold off at auction in June (12).
Highlights of the Julien's Auctions event include a 1968 Prototype Gibson Les Paul Custom Recording Model, a 1951 Fender Nocaster, a 1927 Gibson L-5 Sunburst Cremona and even Paul's touring rig, which is expected to fetch upwards of $5,000 (£3,100).
The two-day Los Angeles auction will take place on what would have been Les Paul's 97th birthday (09Jun12).
Proceeds from the sale will benefit the Les Paul Foundation, which supports musical education programmes and provides grants for medical research related to hearing impairment.
