Leeds Reading Festival Line Up 2012: The Cure, Kasabian, Foo Fighters
The line-up for the Leeds and Reading Festival 2012 has been announced, with The Cure, Foo Fighters and Kasabian set to headline the three-day event over the August Bank Holiday weekend. Tickets also go on sale tonight (March 12, 2012).
The Foo Fighters, fresh from their success at the Grammy Awards, will play the main stage in Leeds on the Friday and Reading on the Sunday. They first appeared at the festival back in 1995. It will be The Cure's turn on Saturday, who will no doubt play a set laced with some of their biggest hits - they first played the Reading stage in 1976 after releasing their debut album. It will be up to British rockers Kasabian to close the party in Leeds on the Sunday, with organisers saying. "In their own words, Kasabian were built to headline festivals. Since the release of their debut self-titled album in 2004, the Leicester group have swept all before them". Other notable bands confirmed for the festival include the Kaiser Chiefs, who return to Leeds after a two-year absence, Florence And The Machine - who have enjoyed another sensational year - and the Black Keys.
The Nme/Radio 1 Stage will play host to the likes of the Maccabees, the newly reformed AT THE DRIVE-IN, and METRONOMY.
