Ledger's Last Directorial Work Appears Online

Late actor HEATH LEDGER's final work as a music video director has hit the web.

The Dark Knight star shot a promo for rapper pal No Fixed Abode shortly before his death from an accidental prescription drugs overdose last year (Jan08).

Ledger filmed the footage for track Cause An Effect with a single camera in a garage at his Sydney, Australia home.

And No Fixed Abode - also known N'FA - is glad his childhood pal agreed to do the job, insisting the star was "happy" with his creation.

He says, "The idea was to keep it very artistic which is what we did.

"Heath directed really well and I know that Heath was happy with the work. Every day I count my blessings that I got to have him direct this piece of art."

The actor previously directed videos for singer/songwriter Ben Drake and rockers Modest Mouse.

When I first began reading these reports from the UK press, yesterday, it was shocking how inaccurate they were. So inaccurate that other than Nfa's direct quotes and the fact that Heath directed the video, every other thing in it is wrong. Here's where those news outlets neglected their facts: -- Cause N Effect was NOT directed "shortly before" Heath's passing. Heath directed this video in December 2004 when he had just moved into his home in Bronte (which he sold in 2006), and a full 3 years and one month before he passed away. -- It was NOT his last directorial work. It was actually one of his FIRST. After that video was directed, he directed another for Nfa (in 2005), videos for BEN Harper, a tribute to NICK Drake (2007), a cover of David Bowie's Quicksand (2007) sung by his new talent, Grace Woodroofe, and others. The concepts and directorial control were all his on every one of those videos. (The Modest Mouse video was also being done in 2007.) -- I couldn't believe that actual news media could be so lax in fact checking. But the mention of BEN DRAKE was almost laughable! It's NICK Drake. BEN Harper. . . . Pretty much leaves all credibility in the toilet, doesn't it?
