Some of you might be under the illusion that, for the athletes, the Olympic Games was about pushing themselves to the pinnacle of their physical limits, and for some we're sure it is. What, of the US basketball men's team though? The NBA megastars are simply a cut above, and their matches so far have had all the competitive spirit of a Buddhist tombola. Whilst they idly wait around for the final, then, it seems that, currently, the Olympics is all about the nookie. If only some of the other athletes in the Olympic village felt the same way.

That's right; arguably the biggest star of the US squad, Lebron James, was turned down after asking his countrywomen and swimmer Lauren Perdue if she wanted to go for dinner with him! Madness! Perdue tweeted "Lebron James just invited me to dinner.Um wuuuutttt?!?" and posted a picture of her with the lanky baller. It's LeBron James! You only get one chance with LeBron James!

However, all was not as it seemed, and Perdue cleared up the matter with Charlotte Observer sports columnist Scott Fowler. "He was kind of joking," Perdue said. "But he was basically like, 'Would you like to come eat with me at the dining hall?' And I said, 'Um, I'm sorry, I have a curfew.'" You may be scoring freely in the Games themselves, LeBron, but a three-pointer in the village is looking harder to come by.
