Leann Rimes Steps Out Of Rehab To Perform Soul-baring Comeback Set
A rehabbed Leann Rimes was in talkative mood to her fans as she performed a series of concerts in Midwest over the weekend, thanking the crowd for sticking with her through what's been a difficult time for the 30 year-old who broke through with her 2000 hit Can't Fight The Moonlight.
Rimes checked herself into rehab on August 29th, according to People, so that she could have help fighting a battle with anxiety and stress, and though she is to return to the clinic having completed this weekend's shows, she already seemed much improved in her general demeanour. "I'm totally cool and so happy; I think I'm about to cry," Rimes told her audience at the Eau Claire Regional Arts Center in Wisconsin. "Thanks for being awesome fans - patient and understanding."
Rimes performed a hearty set that lasted some 70 minutes and consisted of 14 songs, including plenty of new material that seemed to speak from a hugely personal viewpoint lyrically. "I'm p**sed off at a lot of things, and I just can't say it," the singer commented in between songs. "So, it comes out in the music." New album Spitfire is set to be released next year, with some songs being written with Grammy Award-winning songwriter Dan Wilson, and judging by the material aired over the weekend, its set to be a hugely introspective listen. Nevertheless, the fans in Wisconsin stuck by her, and after the show Rimes tweeted "Thanks to all my wonderful fans in Wisconsin. You showed me an amazing amount of love and respect tonight. Love you always."
