Lea Michele To Sing America The Beautiful At Super Bowl
LEA MICHELE, the American actress and star of hit musical-comedy Glee, will kick off next Sunday's Super Bowl with a rendition of 'America the Beautiful', according to MTV News.
Super Bowl XLV will be contested between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Green Bay Packers at the 'Cowboys Stadium', and Michele will be joined by Christina Aguilera and THE Black Eyed Peas as the event's live entertainment. 30-year-old Aguilera, who recently starred in the movie 'Burlesque', is scheduled to sing the national anthem while WILL.I.AM and his band will tackle halftime duties with their own material. This isn't the first time that Michele has performed in front of a large sporting crowd, back in 2009 she sang the national anthem for game three of the World Series.
This year, an episode of GLEE featuring Katie Couric will air in the coveted post-Super Bowl television timeslot, which traditionally brings in phenomenally high ratings. In 1996, an episode of Friends shown immediately after the Super Bowl drew an audience of 52.9 million.
